Description: The Motif in the center of the plate from the Sorgenthal period is based on a hand-colored copper engraving, which in turn can be traced back to a watercolor painting by Laurenz Janscha (1749-1812). Janscha was a student of the renowned landscape painter Johann C. Brand (1722-1795).
