Signature: Imperial Viennese porcelain blue beehive mark, under glazed blue, former’s number 42, pressed number of the year 802, lettering “Vue de la Ville Bade” in black on the backside with the signature “Scheidt” in blue (possibly referring to the porcelain and glasspainter Carl von Scheidt).
Description: The Motif in the center of the plate from the Sorgenthal period is based on a hand-colored copper engraving, which in turn can be traced back to a watercolor painting by Laurenz Janscha (1749-1812). Janscha was a student of the renowned landscape painter Johann C. Brand (1722-1795).
