From the Gallery to the museum

We are proud to announce that one of our objects can now be seen in the Bratislava City Museum! It is an honorary award in the form of an equestrian statue, manufactured by the prominent Viennese silver and metal goods manufacturer J. C. Klinkosch, which held the title of Purveyor to the Imperial and Royal court. The solid silver statue with a wooden base depicts a Hungarian horse shepherd (“csikós”) and in 1898 was handed by then Emperor Franz Josef I to stable owner and cavalry captain Count Paul Orssich and his mare Thekla, winner of the great Bratislava horse race.

It is thanks to public funds that the imposing and precious racing prize can now be viewed in the “Múzeum mesta Bratislavy” until April 15th!
