Accessory for sunny days
In honor of the sun blessing us with its presence more and more frequently these days, we present to you this antique Viennese parasol, dated around 1805!
The parasol itself is made of white velvet with a frilled bordure, the stick is crafted out of ebonized wood, and the material of the beautifully carved handle is ivory. Even the mechanism to slide open the parasol is still functional! Another unique feature of this object are the many fire-gilded elements and the tiny pocket and mirror, hidden inside the central piece on the stick. This way, the elegant lady of the time could subtly add some more color to her lips while on-the-go!
PS: We would not even hold it against you if used the parasol as an accessory on some fancy costume party, just make sure to not put it in the umbrella stand.
