Richly illustrated publication about the so called „Laterndluhren“ and „Dachluhren”
of the first half of the 19th century.

Approximately 450 pages and 800 illustrations over 200 clocks, a comprehensive master's list (over 2,000 new names) with dates of birth and death, addresses, inventions, masterpieces, names of their apprentices and journeymen, location of workshops, exhibits of the trade exhibitions, contemporary street maps of Vienna, Prague and Budapest, map of the centres of clock making, as well as development and history of pendulum clocks from 1780 to 1850, important clockmakers and their characteristics, the sales outlets, buyers and period prices.
